IARC Summer School

IARC’s Summer School program brings young scientists, graduate and undergraduate students, and adult learners together with experts in a wide range of topics of Arctic science for extended periods of study and interaction. Participants receive world-class instruction and experience in the field of Arctic research.

Focusing on a different topic every year, IARC’s Summer School programs immerse participants in the opportunities and challenges of Arctic science through lectures, technical sessions, and in-depth discussions led by specialists in their field, prominent scientists from IARC, UAF and other US Universities, and abroad. Moreover, they provide hands-on activities and projects, and field trips to various research sites in the Arctic.

IARC’s Summer School programs train skills for communicating science across the disciplines and to the public, skills critical in today’s world, more than ever, where Arctic system research has global implications and applications.
