Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE)
I am a Science Education Specialist and Program Coordinator with IARC, bringing specialized skills in Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) implementation from the individual to school-wide level, K-8 education, and K-12 administration. The daughter of a bush pilot and teachers, I was born, raised, and recently retired from public education in Interior Alaska.
My journey to this position began with ten years of wildfire experience while working through college and grad school. While teaching in Delta Junction, Utqiagvik, and Salcha, Alaska, I focused on place-based learning, community-based, and citizen science and worked with local organizations, including the GLOBE Alaska Partnership.
When not observing the beauty and science surrounding me, I can be found training USATF athletes at our family’s Alaska Pole Vault Club and being a track mom.
