Why is climate science under public debate?

Join us for a discussion that addresses a rather important question: why is climate science under public debate? We will explore why climate science is heavily politicized and opinionated. The discussion will highlight the perception of climate science, where it comes from, what went wrong/right, what should change, etc.

Specific topics will include:

“Uncertainty in climate science: the challenge in communication” (John Walsh, IARC)
“From climate change denial to climate change scenarios: considering multiple plausible futures” (Nancy Fresco, IARC/SNAP)
“Moving beyond the ‘information deficit’ model of policy-making” (Chanda Meek, UAF Political Science Department)
