INTERNATIONAL ARCTIC RESEARCH CENTER — UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS

Research

Our integrated science and service program benefits the Arctic community by helping identify opportunities for collaboration on the UAF campus, in Alaska, across the U.S. and worldwide.

  • We analyze, synthesize and provide Arctic climate information, including Arctic Ocean hydrographic information for scientists, stakeholders and the public.
  • We also support and coordinate Arctic system modeling and provide a nexus for process parameterization, model validation and assessment.
  • We serve as a “gateway” or Arctic Climate Science Coordination Center for the Arctic research community through conferences, secretariat functions and workshops

IARC scientists—along with colleagues within the IARC Group—build connections between research and stakeholders within and outside of the University and the United States.
