HiLAT-RASM: an Interdisciplinary Project Exploring Feedbacks on Arctic Amplification

Speaker:

  • Amadini Jayasinghe – LANL/HiLAT postdoc working on carbon biogeochemistry of Arctic Rivers
  • Sergey Molodtsov –  LANL/HiLAT postdoc working on the large-scale ocean circulation and connections to the Arctic
  • Sawyer Brand – LANL/HiLAT post-master’s student who is studying atmospheric drivers of ocean heat transport into the Arctic.

In this presentation, you’ll hear from three researchers from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The High-Latitude Application and Testing of Earth System Models (HiLAT) is a Science Focus Area funded by DOE’s Office of Science, partnering with the Regional Arctic System Model (RASM) project. Currently in its third phase, the project is exploring feedbacks on Arctic Amplification from an interdisciplinary perspective. Presenters will discuss the HiLAT-RASM project, its science and capabilities, and potential opportunities for collaboration.
