Kristen is a tribal member of the Native Village of Selawik. Her Iñupiaq name is Atluk, born and raised on the ancestral lands of the Dene’ people of the Lower Tanana River in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a graduate research assistant at the University of Alaska Fairbanks-Troth Yeddha’ Campus in the M.S. Earth System Science program with a concentration in Sustainability.
