Dr. Chanil Park is an expert in synoptic meteorology and climate dynamics. He seeks to better understand the extratropical atmospheric circulations across synoptic to planetary scales and their role in local weather extremes in present and future climates. He combines theory, reanalysis & climate model data analysis, and idealized modeling to understand and isolate the key physical mechanisms governing weather and climate systems.
