IARC Salon—Science to action: How climate science informs policy
Feb 17, 2022 at 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
February’s IARC Salon will explore the intersection of climate science and policy. The speakers will explore how scientists can be climate advocates, and how science is informing climate policy and action in Fairbanks and around Alaska. Bring your questions to our panel discussion with:
- Savannah Venetis Fletcher (Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly Member and Alaska Legal Services Native Law Attorney)
- Terry Chapin (Professor Emeritus at UAF and Author)
Listen to the recording [Passcode: $7dAL#W7].
This semester’s IARC salon graduate student coordinators are Julian Dann and Sarah Clement. Julian is an interdisciplinary master’s student working on remote sensing of tundra disturbance and science communication. Sarah is a PhD student in natural resources & sustainability studying science education through community and citizen science. She is excited to explore issues around community engagement in science and cultural norms (and how they’re changing) in field work and graduate student experiences.
