Dec 9, 2021 at 10:00 am – 11:00 am
What are the goals of regional and international climate conferences and reports, and what can we learn from them? Join us for December’s IARC Salon discussion about participating in large-scale climate meetings and reports. We’ll hear from:
- Victoria Qutuuq Buschman (Post Doctoral Fellow, International Arctic Research Center) on attending the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26)
- Margaret Anamaq Rudolf (Graduate Student, Interdisciplinary, International Arctic Research Center) on her experience at the Arctic Circle Assembly
- John Walsh (Chief Scientist, International Arctic Research Center) on contributing to the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP)

This semester’s IARC salon graduate student coordinators are Julian Dann and Sarah Clement. Julian is an interdisciplinary master’s student working on remote sensing of tundra disturbance and science communication. Sarah is a PhD student in natural resources & sustainability studying science education through community and citizen science. She is excited to explore issues around community engagement in science and cultural norms (and how they’re changing) in field work and graduate student experiences.
