IARC Salon— Arctic climate and health
May 17, 2022 at 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
The impacts of accelerating climate change are increasingly affecting health in the Arctic. May’s IARC salon will explore the intersection between Arctic climate and health. This is the final IARC salon for the 2021-22 academic year! Bring your questions to our panel discussion with:
- Elena Grigorieva (Visiting Fulbright Scholar, International Arctic Research Center)
- Kelsey Nicholson (OneHealth Program Administrator & PhD Candidate, Natural Resources & Sustainability)
- Laurie Meythaler-Mullins (OneHealth Community Outreach & Public Health Veterinarian)
This semester’s IARC salon graduate student coordinators are Julian Dann and Sarah Clement. Julian is an interdisciplinary master’s student working on remote sensing of tundra disturbance and science communication. Sarah is a PhD student in natural resources & sustainability studying science education through community and citizen science. She is excited to explore issues around community engagement in science and cultural norms (and how they’re changing) in field work and graduate student experiences.
