Dana studies multiple facets of arctic-boreal ecosystems, how they are changing, and how these changes impact people. She primarily uses geospatial and remote sensing tools, integrated with community-based research and citizen science. Her research interests include: remote sensing of rivers and freshwater ice, permafrost dynamics, wildfire and vegetation ecology, and human-environment interactions.
