Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System
The primary goal of my research is to understand the physical mechanisms behind recent changes in the state of the Arctic Ocean to improve our knowledge of the arctic climate system. Particular questions that I’m trying to answer are how the large and mesoscale dynamics of the pan-Arctic boundary current and thermohaline processes that occur in the eastern Arctic Ocean affect the state of the arctic sea ice. In my research, I tend to merge observational data, comprehensive statistical analysis, and numerical modeling to achieve a better understanding of the Arctic Ocean state.
