September 14, 2017 | 2:30pm, 401 Akasofu- Kevin Berry will discuss how forests continue to be reservoirs for infectious diseases and undermines the potential recreational services by measuring the human response to environmental risk using exogenous variation in the risk of contracting Lyme Disease.
The report highlights significant changes and record breaking temperatures in the Arctic and Alaska. Compared to lower latitudes, the Arctic is warming at more than twice the rate with 2016 being the warmest year for Alaska since 1925.
The new National Science Foundation project, dubbed “Winterberry,” aims not only to engage Alaskans in research on berry resources but also to find ways to make the findings more valuable to communities.
