IARC Salon: AGU preview

Join the International Arctic Research Center for December’s IARC Salon previewing several of the upcoming presentations that will take place during the American Geophysical Union conference in Chicago from December 12-16.
- Tori Brannan, retired principal of Salcha Elementary School. AGU talk: sleuthing the slough: Ten years of engaging (and managing) a K-6 school-wide environmental impact study
- Cecilia Borries-Strigle, IARC, atmospheric sciences PhD student. AGU talk: creating seasonal fire weather outlooks for fire managers in Alaska
- Athena Copenhaver, IARC, assistant director of the Study of Environmental Arctic Change. AGU talk: expanding interdisciplinary research across knowledge systems
- Sarah Clement, IARC, program coordinator for Inspiring Girls Expedition Alaska and researcher for Fresh Eyes on Ice. AGU talk: broadening youth participation in Arctic community and citizen science

This semester’s IARC salon graduate student coordinators are PhD students Michael Lundberg and Addie Norgaard. Michael studies Arctic atmospheric and physical oceanographic processes. Addie is in oceanography studying inorganic carbon dynamics in the Gulf of Alaska.
