Glacial Lakes as Drivers of Ice Dynamics: Satellite Observations from Patagonia and Antarctica
Friday, Aug 21, 2026 at 10:00 am – 11:00 am AKDT
Shuntaro Hata from Japan’s National Institute of Polar Research will share how he uses satellite remote sensing to study lake-terminating glaciers in Patagonia affected by rapid lake level lowering, and the distribution and discharge of an ice-marginal lake on the periphery of the Antarctic Ice Sheet.
