Working towards a more diverse and inclusive IARC
IARC is working towards creating a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment that welcomes everyone, values multiple types of knowledge and engages all individuals to help each thrive. As part of this effort, the IARC Diversity and Inclusivity statement was developed. The statement is a living document designed to help guide our institution.
Requests also emerged for education opportunities to increase awareness about and provide strategies to address unintentional bias in the workplace. As a first step, the IARC Working Group invited Patricia Divine and William Cox from the University of Wisconsin to lead IARC through a workshop to break the prejudice habit. The workshop was attended by IARC and other UAF employees in August 2018.
