New summary available on Bering Strait winter 2018 sea ice conditions

The amount of sea ice in the Bering Sea this winter was the lowest it has been since 1850. Communities throughout the region were significantly impacted.

The International Arctic Research Center recently produced a NEW summary about these conditions. Bering Strait: an overview of winter 2018 sea ice conditions explains why so little sea ice formed this winter.

The 4-page document is written for a general audience and is part of an effort to increase communications between IARC scientists and Bering Strait communities.
